I agree and don't get where people have such a weird tax-phobia. In a vast majority of places with higher taxes the salaries (not to mention the services and infrastructure) far outweigh the benefit of living in a state with low taxes, low pay and inadequate infrastructure. To each his own though..

No kidding. IMO what will financially kill you in Florida is not the taxes, but the insurance situation, which very few people ever seem to talk about. In all honesty, whatever more you pay in income taxes in Georgia, you'll essentially make it up with your lower homeowner's insurance bill compared to Florida homeowner's rates.

Good point, and the bottom line is people have to look at the overall "BIG PICTURE" wherever they plan to move, not just Florida. For instance, while it's true the insurance here is a killer, all of our other expenses (us personally) including RE taxes are pretty low compare to other states and we live quite well. There is always a balance, and it comes down to figuring out what is the overall best for one's situation. Of course there is also quality of life, which is something one can't really put a price on.

Dont come to florida we have enof rude northerners . Scary expensive , hellashish traffic , deadbeat gorund zero , and severe apathy . Just being honest with ya .
