We need change Florida's name to 'South Jersey' and change New Jersey's name to 'North Jersey, due to all the Jersey folk in 'FlARida' . There are more New Jerseyans in Florida than in New jersey and New York combined. You know Florida has a lot of Jersyans when pizza from Florida is more authenic than pizza from New Jersey itself. Daytona, the gulf and Miami are like guido paradises. I see so many yellow license plates in Florida i swear I'm on the surface of the sun!!! Nowonder they call Florida 'the sunshine state'

.... First thing you got to do is know how to spell it! It's "Flawrida" (phonetically speaking)

Secondly, while there's a pile of them Joisey folks here, they wouldn't come to Flawrida .... if it was named north/south Jersey. Instead, they would probably wind-up in Gawgia.

Considering most of the southeast coast was developed by Henry Flagler ( a New Yorker) and basically populated by Yankees to begin with why not? The New York Times did an article on Miami in the early part of the 20th. century and basically called Miami "the sixth borough"!
