My husband and I are planning to retire in three years. We are going to Florida to look at homes on the West Coast in two weeks. Our plan is to buy this year and rent the house until we retire. We have a small sail boat and my husband loves fishing, so we want don't want to be too far from boat ramps and good fishing. We have friends in Bradenton and on the East Coast of Florida. We are thinking about looking between the Sarasota and Naples areas. We don't want to spend a fortune on housing but want a single home rather than a condo. Our price range is between $100,000 and $200,000. We also want to buy a home built from 2002 on because of the newer building codes and don't want to be in an area that is prone to flooding.
