Been all over and never seen the stupid people driving. Changing lanes with less then a foot of clearance at 80mph, Changing several lanes without looking, crossing in front of traffic to get across several lanes way too close to oncoming. Passing with not even close to enough room. Trying to pass in between two vehicles on the expressway that are side by side already. Its as nuts as I have seen it. Now i understand why my insurance agent said that its crazy here. I also know why so many cars are ass kissed. It is Bat crap crazy here. I swear that someone took all the crazy drivers from all over the nation and dropped them here. Old farts who don't look or break to 10 mph as they are getting on the deceleration lane, to kids who can barely see over the steering wheel cutting traffic like its pole position.

I dunno...I'll bet Atlanta, alone, has more bad drivers than the entire state of Florida.

I couldn't agree more - CRAZY drivers. When I first moved here I couldn't understand why there were so many accidents. Then as the snow birds came and traffic got heavier, I realized. There are actually more accidents here then when I lived in Syracuse, NY in the ice and snow. And the craziness is not just on the highway. I drive buyers around on a daily basis and it is just unbelievable the way people drive. It is young people and old people alike.

Most of those "stupid drivers" in Florida come from other states.

This is the one big negative for me for living in this area. Bradenton/Sarasota/Venice seems particularly bad to me, worse than the bigger cities of Tampa or St. Pete. It's a bad combination of too many older people that have no business driving, tourists/vacationers who are "sight-seeing" or don't know where they are going, and people of all ages, talking/texting on their phones while driving. I can't tell you how many close calls I have had, none my fault. One must really drive defensively.

I have seen people driving who can not see over the wheel and others weaving in and out like they want to hit someone.

Its not like I have not driven in Atlanta, Detroit, Kansas City and LA. I have and its not near as bad as here. I have watched just this week some fool cut across without looking three lanes of traffic to get into a left hand turn lane. Just take a look around and see how many cars have smashed rear ends. You have to drive for yourself and the other guy or woman to have a chance at making it home.

I have learned all the back roads I can to get from one place to another. 41 is a death trap, 19 not far off. I am very happy to see people pile into Florida again. Home prices are going up and if I get tired of it all, I can sell out and move on.

BTW Rushmore, I don't think anyone cares about your blathering. If your so concerned about grammar you need to find a job teaching high school English. They wont care about your English rants either.

I like it when people don't use proper grammar and punctuation. It's a good indicator of who I'm dealing with.

I have noticed many Florida drivers have no idea what a turn signal is used for.
