It seems as though South Florida gets a bad rep, like everywhere. Why?

The main bad rep comes from people who do not like "the way it's changed."

This alternately means (on the benign end) they don't like the booming, busy metropolitan area has become, to meaning (on the bigot end) "I don't like New Yorkers, Jews, gays, blacks or people who speak Spanish."

Your assessment is correct.

I think the USA might be changing positively, because I see Jewish people, black skinned people, Spanish speaking people and white skinned people coming together collectively to hate on New Yorkers. It is nice to see these groups finding common ground.

I for one, just don't like the congestion, traffic, and expense. But I do like to visit.

Cost of living is high...People Claim everyone is rude and obnoxious, I happen to disagree, I do have to say the Crime in South Florida is not Favorable I know crime is everywhere and growing up in Brooklyn NY and spending a lot of time in Manhattan there is crime but we did notice how bad south Florida has gotten...People have told me who have lived there a long time Your right they don't like how it has changed and it had nothing to do with us jewish people or the black people they felt the quality of life has changed...

In the 3.5 years we lived there we were very happy in Boca, but we did see a lot of the Negatives living there as well which is why we are torn whether or not to head back for the long haul and have our children plant roots there...

I find the crime is rising fast. In the past two weeks I can't tell u how many banks were robbed, grow houses busted, animals abused and a cop killed. Or how about the guy who killed his wife and posted it on FB... It just is really turning me off lately... Plus home prices around nearing out of control again... Medium home price for a single family in Naples at $348,000 now, rent $1,200+ for a decent place to live.. Who can afford that! ... Yah right
