I like your thoughts of Vero Beach, not too big, not too small. I have enjoyed the Ponte Vedra Beach town layout of no tall buildings interrupt the views of the beach, not casting shadows over the beach toward sundown is very enjoyable. So that sounds nice of Vero.

Parking here is very limited in PVB. There is one public beach access with parking available. It gets very full during the summers and sometimes you have to go to other beach towns. If you're not familiar with this town, it is very wealthy and they have made it difficult to enjoy the beaches due to no -I mean absolutely NO- parking zones at the public access points. they do mean to keep the locals and tourists off of the beaches in front of their beach homes.

I do like the thoughts of 'Old Florida" feel.

Snowbirds are fine with me. Retirees, of course, are fine with me. I hope to be one, one day! Ha

Thank you so much for your reply. We would probably enjoy a slower speed than what I've learned about Miami, although I have never visited there. Is the town as 'busy' as I suspect? Or are there areas that are more community centered and maybe a little laid back and slower paced?

If you are looking for a slower speed of life than Miami isn't for you. It's a very dense bustling city full of millions of tourists on a yearly basis. It's not for the faint of heart.

Like St Johns county, Brevard also has excellent schools. Both are ranked in the top 10 overall school rankings by county for FL.

Also, we have 2 Boxers. so dog parks would be nice.

We enjoy areas of the town that could be walked through. Perhaps Art walk nights, neighborhood gatherings or activities.
