Hi all
Been thinking about relocating for about 3 years, but selling a house to purchase another is no easy task

I would like to be no further than 30 to 40 minutes from WDW and would like a nice community to call home. I have an eight year old daughter and still not sure if I should be searching for an A rated school/ charter or look into Florida Virtual school.

I did live in Florida when I was young (elementary school), Port St. Lucie (about 1978) I remember the busing that took place, I was in the middle of it all wasn't a pleasant experience and part of the reason my family moved back to NY. Hoping to make the move back in the more immediate future but it is hard when I am not too familiar with all the new growth and unknown towns.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You couldn't make it to Disney in less than 40 minutes from anywhere near Tampa so that's kind of a disqualifier. For the best schools and family-friendly neighborhoods within 40 minutes of WDW I would recommend Oviedo. The schools are all A-rated and not of the charter school variety which is rather impressive from traditional-zoned public schools.

Lakeland or Winter Haven would allow it. I don't know how the schools are there though

True, but the schools aren't good in pretty much all of Polk County which is why I didn't mention it.

I'm not a fan of Western Orange County due to traffic/tourists, sprawl and not-so-good neighborhoods encroaching on better ones and some "better ones" that have the potential to go downward as evidenced by what happened with MetroWest. Winter Springs and Lake Mary are solid (I live in the Lake Mary area) but it's pushing the 40 minute criteria as it's more like an hour most days.

Clermont might work. I hear the schools are good, but I don't know if hey are A rated.
