Since some of think FL has more weird crimes than any other state, some people think it's because we live in FL that makes us think we have more weird/bizarre people and crimes, etc.

I think it's a little bit of both.

Anyhow, I posted a poll in the main General US forum, asking the question, if FL was indeed more weird/bizarre than other states so that ppl from the other 49 states can chime in. That was its not just the people of FL going back n forth saying "yes we do" or "no we dont" or "it just seems that way because we live in FL, so we're going to see more weird stuff herer than other states" etc... I dont think there's another fair way to do it, so I asked the question on the General US forum. I'll chime in with results of the poll so ppl dont have to keep going back n forth if they want to see the results...

Wonder how many of those folks have never set foot in the state, and know next to nothing about it.

The majority of the respondents are probably basing their opinion on the sensationalist news articles they read. I dont understand why it becomes national news every time somebody sneezes in Florida.

I dont remember this one being national news...

Talk about perverts and pedophiles. This one isnt national news...

However, it is always National News when something happens in FL. Strange.

LOL, I always figure it's the liberal-biased news outlets that have never forgiven Florida for its role in the election of George Bush in 2000.

It could be, guys. It could be a number of things. It's not to bash anyone or anything, its just an interesting topic. If ppl say my FL is crazy I say "I know"... it doesnt mean I'm packing my bags...

All good guys,

FL cracker

well if some of the ppl voting may know nothing about the state, than they should have no reason to pick FL in the poll. it should make the poll person indifferent.

I actually agree with you Spring Hillian (gasp!) and have always maintained that's the case. I think big cities in the Northeast for example have far weirder people given how weirder folk tend to be recluses who cherish anonymity. Since the major media outlets tend to operate out of those areas I wouldn't bet on any change in the way "weird news" is discovered and broadcast as it's less fun making light of the weirdness of your own surroundings I suppose.
