All depends what your perspective is and where you are coming from. It was a lot nicer place to live in 2006 when this was posted.

excuse my french but spring hill totally sucks... theres no mall, theres absolutely NOTHING to do.. no nightlife except for old gross bars filled with nasty white trash.. and besides the few nice gated communities there are in some spots which are gated, the other home communities are average or below average in my opinion... theres nothing picturesque about spring hill, and if you looked around you would have no idea you were even in the state of florida. I lived in sarasota before having to move (not by choice) to spring hill and it was a totally different world! and the so called "beach" pine island is a total JOKE filled with slobby low class people. i would most definetly not recommend living here.

I'm sure the locals you describe are content not having a mall since they have Wal-Mart.

Ah, hate to inform you, but you are in a rural section of the state. Spring Hill is a housing development, a sub division subdivided.

It's never been touted as much more.

Sorry the area does not live up to your requirements.

Since you most likely have never been here, please note that we have 3 Wal-Mart stores. While we do not have the old fashioned enclosed "mall" we do have several shopping areas with all the major retailers. Anyone would know "malls" are passe. If one MUST have an old fashioned mall, there is one in NPR about 14 miles south.

I wish I could say I've never been there. 3 Wal-Marts, lucky you.

Yep. 3 of them. While the snobs are at Publix we save the $$ on the exact same products.

2006 was like a boom town around there. It was actually kind of exciting living in that area. What a difference a few years makes.

I'll stick to my snobbish ways and support a company like Publix that is employee owned. Buy a steak at Wal-Mart and it's about a grade or two above dog food, not at Publix.
