A good list, but it would be good to see one minus the charter/magnet schools which obviously are stacked academically. It's easy to perform at a high rate when one has the ability to pick/choose the brightest.

PBHS is a magnet school that draws students of high academic potential. I don't think it's fair to compare such schools versus traditional schools that draw from strictly from an established geographic zone.

After a quick look it appears the only schools on the list that aren't charter or magnet schools are Niceville HS, Oviedo HS, Fort Walton Beach HS and Cypress Bay HS in Weston.

They have magnet programs though that draw high-performing students in from around the district.

No magnet programs they have the STEM program but its an Academy not a Magnet...My son was in the Entrepreneur Academy at Spanish River...They take Local kids 1st even though its Lottery, but they do not consider it a magnet program...the kids in the STEM program also take regular classes with the kids that are not in STEM

Why are you questioning the ranking of Pompano High?

Because when we lived there we heard how bad Pompano Beach schools were, I did not know it was a Magnet School...You can't compare Magnet schools to public...and like Kyle said most of the schools on the list are all magnet or charter except for the ones he mentioned
