Yes, I am open to anything about Florida--good and bad. I just don't care for people on here that want to tear me down for some reason---strange. Oh well, some people are just mean I guess but they need to vent somewhere else.

I live in South Fort Myers and love my area. Homes range from $200,000 and up. But overall very affordable and safe.

We will be visiting Ft Myers Beach in May so we plan to drive around that area, North Port, PC and PG as well to see how it "feels"

Does Fort Myers have the white sand that doesn't get hot?

400K will buy you pretty much wherever you want to live. Be advised that Florida has the highest HOI rates in the US, and by your description, be prepared to buy flood insurance, which is also costly.

I personally don't like Ft. Myers - it has more crime than other parts of Lee county. Bonita Springs or Estero might be a better choice.

Never gets hot to me on the beach in Ft Myers Beach. The sand is also as soft as flour. Love it!!

Honestly, you need to find the best fit for you. My best advice is to stay a week in each place you're considering and to think what it would be like to live there year round, rather than just a short stay as a tourist.

What is HOI? I like the North Port area myself so I will be exploring that

Exactly! That is what I have heard from others on here and that makes total sense
