Hello,
My mom and I want to move to FL in a couple years, when I graduate with a BSN. I really liked the University of South Florida for a master's degree because they offer certain master's programs that many schools don't for nursing. My mom and I both like living close to WDW. She'd like to work there in the summer (she's a teacher). She prefers to live near some kind of country club so she can be active. I shouldn't say prefer, I should say it is her requirement

Our house budget is around $400,000-500,000. Also we have energetic German shepherd dogs.

We looked around Tampa, Orlando and Ocala. We both liked Tampa and Orlando, but couldn't find anything for my mom's club house/country club wish. Ocala looked beautiful but we both thought it was kind of in the middle of nowhere? Not many hospitals around, mainly, no pediatrics hospital, and my mom wasn't sure about the schools for her job.

We haven't checked out the east coast though. I could work around school if we found the perfect place to live that's more east. Can you guys suggest more cities to investigate please?

Orlando seems to be the most convenient place to settle down, as it has many schools, Golf Clubs and Disney and i believe you said you enjoyed the place when you went there. However its Going to be a bit of a commute to St Petes USF

There are tons of golf course communities in Tampa. There are also a lot of country clubs. Look in New Tampa if you want to go to school at USF.

UNF and Jacksonville University both have MSN programs. It is 2.5 hours to Dinsey so not a good summer job at WDW

SW Orlando, Clermont or the Four Corners area are near WDW and at least closer to Tampa. How much of the MSN program requires commuting to USF? Is there some online components, if so you could live closer to Orlando if it it is once time a week or less at school. My friend got her MSN at JU and she only went once a week to class

They said they liked it, but also looked at Orlando, Tampa and Ocala, so..... they are open to other areas of FL.

There's ample CC living in Lutz, Cheval, TPC Tampa Bay, north of USF campus. Also Wesley Chapel, Bruce B Downs.Hospitals near USF. Good luck with MSdN. Got mine years ago. Less stressful than BSN imo. Season pass Busch Gardens instead of DW.

You can live around Orlando and pursue a Master's at USF, btw... I actually did my BS at USF, all while living in Mt Dora. The commute sucked, yes, but it was doable. Grad programs typically offer a good 80% of coursework to be done online, so at worse, you may have to go out there once a week.
That said, Metro Tampa has LOADS of Country Club areas.
