These would be separate sub-forums, not one huge sub-forum. This poll will be open for 24 hours. Our posting activity has increased by 70% since we had this poll last time and Florida is the most active state forum without any sub-forums.

Yes, Florida is a huge state with marked regional differences.
Sometimes subforums (or, to be grammatically correct, subfora ) can be annoying but in this case it makes a lot of sense.

We are due for sub-forums, lets everyone to vote. This is what I posted sometime back:

I would like to ask to all the registered members to vote on this poll if you would like to have sub forums. Sub-forums do provide the capability for individuals to get information more specific from the respective area/city. Our forum is the 2nd largest with 922 threads and 8480 post (at this time). North Carolina leads with 2,086 threads and whopping 22,592 posts.

Currently the City-Data Forum has 28 sub-forums in 51 homepages (states only, includes DC). Some homepages have multiple sub-forums to accommodate the member’s needs. The following are excellent examples of multiple sub-forums:

California six sub-forums: 328 threads and 2,991 posts
Texas six sub-forums: 855 threads and 6,277 posts

Based on the amount of threads/posts we should have sub-forums. The administrator took the initiative to create a poll, but only 27 members voiced their opinion and basically lack of interest defied the poll.

As a new member, I have seen very interesting discussions for better or worst. I do challenge each one of the members to voice their opinion. No need for replies, just vote (simple).

The rules are the following, Vote for yes I want a sub-forum or no I don’t want a sub-forum

Based on your replies we can either develop the following:
Sub-region folders
---Definition South Miami, Central Florida, Northwest Florida, Northeast Florida
(we should know our area)
Or major cities: Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Tallahassee, and Jacksonville (this is just a suggestion and is not a final list)

Lets make your vote count

I wonder if *regions* might be preferable to cities?

No, I like the city idea better than regions.

Well, if we do that, then my area, the northwest, really does not get any coverage, but perhaps, in the long run, that's for the best.

How about cities & their regions, like Miami and southeastern Florida, Tampa Bay and the Gulf region, Orlando and central Florida, Jacksonville and northeast Florida, the Panhandle?

But what would happen to the general Florida list? It has been instructive to learn of the perspectives of people living in other regions of Florida. Do we really want to sacrifice that?
