We have some messed up mental images going on that equate someone on any form of pubic assistance being a low life thug. Seriously messed up. Just hope you don't find yourself in a place requiring help to keep a roof over your head someday. But if you do I would love to snicker when someone mumbles " look at those free loading worthless low lifes using a EBT card to buy pork chops, they should be eating SPAM"
Well considering SPAM isn't healthy but pork chops CAN be, this wouldn't make any sense. A better statement would be that they should be using EBT to stock up on necessities, which are healthy foods. Yes, I would question (in my head) why someone who is in such dire need of government assistance checking out with a cart full of angus rib-eyes and then countless amounts of chips and soda. I AM paying for their assistance, after all.
That's like giving your child money to buy college books and he instead goes and stocks up on dorm room beers for he and his buddies. I don't think you'd respond too well to this, would you? But hey, it's his money. Why should you care what he does with the money you gave him, right?
