THAT is absurd, ridiculous and completely untrue. Most anywhere and everywhere has better 'subs' than Publix.

Not sure how anyone can think that the meat served in the other places is better than the Boar's Head at Publix. Of course the fact they're still open indicates that but....really?

exactly! But I will say the bread and the proximity of the deli to the door are the two weak points with Publix. I suspect Publix is probably the freshest/cleanest option of the group since in most cases it isn't staffed by high school kids looking to goof off and go home early!

Publix doesn't make your sub with "Boar's Head" meats unless you specify that you want "Boar's Head" brand only on the sub. Then you pay much more for that sub.

Publix gives a very small amount of meat on their subs, by weight.

As a side note, many "Boars Head" meats absolutely suck! Specifically, the turkey and the chicken varieties...dry as a bone.

I want to like Firehouse, but find their bread to be weirdly and unpleasantly sweet. And for me, the roll is the foundation of a good sub.

In the 'Other' category, I do like Lenny's and their hot pepper relish.

Firehouse is a solid second. Publix is easily the first. Jersey Mikes is a distant third, but over priced. Subway and Wawa are tied for me, but I feel wawa is waayy over-hyped. I don't blame anyone not voting for Jimmy Johns, they are horrible.

I find Which Wich to be below the rest on this poll. Their subs seem really thin and don't really fill me up.

I like Firehouse Subs. The one with turkey and mushrooms is great.

Yeah I could never enjoy Firehouse subs. I've tried to, and my kids love the little hats they get when we go there. But I just can't stand them. Not sure what it is.
I do, however, like Jersey Mike's quite a bit.

....And aside from maybe price, I'm not sure how anyone can like the meats from other places better than Publix. Boar's head is only like an extra dollar, by the way, so it isn't paying "much more."

And finally, I have been extremely disappointed with Jimmy John's. Absolute garbage.

The more is better thing doesn't equal quality. As with anything in life you get what you pay for, and of course something more premium like Boar's Head would cost more, while not having enough meat on it to feed three people. Publix puts 9 ounces of meat on their subs, which is hardly a very small amount...
