https://wsvn.com/news/local/bill-to-...ead-in-senate/

A proposed bill that may keep Floridians from having to “spring forward” or “fall back” each year has passed its first hurdle in the state’s Legislature.

In addition to exempting Florida from the twice-yearly time change, the bill also would move a portion of the Panhandle from Central time to Eastern time.

I'm not sure what the purpose is and frankly, get confused about whether we are in daylight savings time or not when we switch back and forth twice per year. In any case, I prefer more daylight in the evenings and 5-7 am daylight is somewhat wasted on me.

It seems like moving the Florida Panhandle (Destin ?) to the Eastern time zone and going to daylight savings time year-round would work out quite well for me.

It's for more daylight later in the day in the winter, they feel it will increase business for the state by keeping gold courses and other outdoor activities open later.

I like it. I think in California they were trying to do away with it but for some reason I feel like they were not going to keep it light later which is ridiculous

I used to like darker earlier but since I got a dog, I prefer longer daylight in the evenings.
Hard to see and pick up caca in the dark.
Plus I hate the sun blinding me on the morning work commute.
