My family is looking to buy a home. We see some beautiful new homes in Davenport, around posner. It we are unfamiliar with the area. Currently we live in Kissimmee, around Disney-ish/hunters creek.

Can anyone give us some insight on good areas to look into?

Not Davenport, if you care about schools. Or Kissimmee for that matter

Ya know always telling people not to move to areas because of poor schools does not help the area. Often new residents can help lead to better schools. We need to encourage good caring families with the ability to help improve areas not discourage. A parent actually makes or breaks a child's education. A child can succeed even from the worst schools. Getting low test grade does not actually tell the true story on a school. Diversity can mean lower test grades when the kids are still learning the language, but it does not mean they are not getting a great education. Moving from the North schools may not have kids speaking so many different languages. I once had a class of 20 who spoke 6 different languages in the home here in Florida.

Those are good points, but still it's nice to work on things where you can. Polk County has historically been bad for years, and the ops should be aware of that

Good points and also worth noting that the website Great Schools takes away points on their grading system when it comes to diversity of race and economics. Meanwhile websites like Newsweek which rates the best high schools by state (and nationally) doesn't take away for those measures and one will notice that many of the best performing high schools in Florida (not counting magnet or charter) have high percentages of minority enrollment and substantial percentages of those enrolled in the subsidized lunch program.

Thanks for the input. There are many houses over that way that you can get for a good price. We homeschool. We just want to feel and be safe. Kids in the area.
