I've lived in Tampa and Boca Raton.

I think the Northern Burb's of Tampa would be the best choice if limited to just these 2.

Boca has become a mash up of New Jersey, New York, & Central/South America. Spanish is taking over slowly as the primary language. The last time I was at the Boca Town Center, I couldn't believe how much Spanish I heard. Even at the Mizner Center I heard some.

In Tampa, only place I heard Spanish was in Ybor City, or at larger gatherings like Football games, Gasparilla, & Airport.

And what exactly is wrong with hearing people around you speak Spanish? Are you going to get cancer from listening to Spanish? Does Spanish make you spontaneously combust? You can hear Spanish in every corner of this country. After all, it is the Spanish speakers immigrants who are frying your burgers, cleaning your hotel room, and washing your car. Without them, this country would come to a complete stop.

Ybor City is not the only place in Tampa where Spanish can be heard, that's for damn sure.

Personally I speak three languages and wish I spoke more.

I agree. My grandparents immigrated to Tampa from Spain, and Spanish is all they spoke. I grew up in (old) West Tampa, and it was like a Latin village with Spanish, Cuban and some Italian. In all my schools, almost everyone was Spanish, and spoke it. Unfortunately I am not fluent in Spanish (my mother did not speak the language) but I sure wish I were. I only speak/understand a little.

Hear's an idea. Why don't some of you who don't like Spanish because you can't understand it try to learn a little of the language? It is good for your brain, people in Europe speak multiple languages. BOTTOM LINE: Tampa is FULL of Spanish speaking people from many backgrounds, so if you have an aversion to it MOVE ELSEWHERE.

English is the chosen language of the United States of America. Not Spanish, or any other language.

It is???? Says WHO? You!?

In many parts of this country, English is NOT spoken. Places like Hooper Bay, Alaska, where Russian and Yupik are the primary languages. Places like Bitter Springs, Arizona, where Navajo is the major language spoken there. Places like Grand Isle, Maine, where French is the main language.

As a matter of fact, in more than HALF of homes in America, English is not the primary language spoken.

You better find a new country. It's only going to get more multicultural in America, not less! Now don't be spontaneously combusting on me!

There is no official language in the US. Many people don't know that surprisingly.

You are sounding totally weird sinatras. English is the language of our land. Are you fluent in any other language? Plz reply in that language.
