I believe on a $400,000 house the windstorm deductible is at least $8,000 automatically. The regular deductible for your policy, mine is $1,000, doesn't apply to the windstorm. Of course, windstorm has been canceled and I don't have any windstorm anymore anyway. Interestingly enough, I am still insured for storm damage, tournedos and so on, just not named storms.

Just google "homeowners Insurance rates in Florida" and you will get a ton of articles on how bad the rates really are here!
