This is helpful, thank you.

A quote from the site, "Normal might be different now, but we can get back to doing what we love because of the availability of COVID-19 vaccines. Safe, effective, and free ..."

This misleading at best, and possibly a downright lie. The safety of the mitigative shots is not totally known going forward, their effectiveness has already waned and was never at the level of infection protection as marketed, and the real economic cost is huge.

The mitigative shots are helpful in mitigating the risk of hospitalization and death, but we have to remain vigilant, very vigilant.

Reports that CDC may backtrack even further on masking guidelines, perhaps returning to the "universal" masking recommendation. A new announcement possible this evening, Friday, July 30th.

Kathleen Hall Jamieson, director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania, stated, "... [the CDC does] not appear to be candid about the extent to which breakthroughs are yielding hospitalizations.”

Good Luck!

Then you won't be flying anywhere. Very soon (again), you won't be shopping anywhere either. Put your big boy pants on and deal with it.

...no, it's not helpful at all

cases?...what does that mean?

It means absolutely nothing if it's not compared to how many people were tested...

because of delta...did they start testing 10 times more people?...who knows

...what they need to be posting is the percent positive...with a qualifier

The latest CDC data posted on 07/27 for Florida says 14.8% on 424k tests for the prior 7 days.

Our case count has gone up every day since then.

In general tests per day are down from the peak around the New Year by a sizeable amount although starting to go up again.

Since our Governor decided we didn't need to release data on Covid on a daily basis any longer, these CDC reports are the best data you can find.

In comparison, back in the January peak we were testing over 100k a day(700k/wk) and the biggest day ever was a little over 20k cases found. The last two days we have recorded over 17k each in comparison on a much smaller test load.

This delta surge is the worst one we have had in the pandemic. Deaths trail by about a month. We are pretty close to the death rate per day we saw in January when that 20k case day was recorded.

The CDC report can be found here if you want to review the data:

Yep, Trump pushed that crap from the very beginning. So much needless loss.

Trump initially gave the impression that the virus wasn’t a big deal.

The others thought it was a big deal, but made bad calls in the eyes of some.

Like I said early on (and if anyone is bored search for it), NYC and most major cities would be the worst regardless of who was in power. We’ve been warned about this for YEARS by Hollywood lol. Who wants to see an natural disaster, pandemic, or alien invasion movie set in a random town in South Dakota?
