Hi Corrie!

I care and sorry to have asked you.

It would be like Florida losing their nurses to the Phillipines leaving us short.

***The country a person is born in should come 1st BEFORE the 1 they want to move to.***

Anyway, thanks for joining the discussion.

And again my deepest apologies for p.ssing you off. That was not my intention.

Angela

So… talked to one of my best friends today. Critical Care nurse. Her shift got cancelled due to the opposite of a shortage. Too many nurses. Not enough need.

what are they paying staff nurses in critical care these days in north FL? (gainesville and Jax in particular) One of my concerns trying to pitch semi-retirement relo from TX to FL would be the paycut my wife would incur. Says she hates both, but money talks and I think she'd throw brakes at a low-ball salary landscape from FL, even given her dislike for TX. For reference, currently here in Central TX on a level I trauma she's at $30-34-38 (night weekends differentials) for new grad with BSN in critical care. +5 for ICU. Goes up a good +10/hr with experience. but that's now, who knows with the recession how much staffing cuts will dilute asking wages going forward. Traveling RNs of course are off the charts but I want to keep it apples to apples.

I know it's probably a paycut given the state's penchant for receiving the hordes of hasty aspirational transplants willing to endure sunshine tax price inelasticity behavior before they high tail it back to the proverbial midwest where they came from. But there's paycuts, and then there's irredeemable career concessions/non-starters. No sense in researching the move if she's looking at a 40% paycut or the like.

My friend makes $45/hr as a staff nurse in Critical Care. That’s in the Tampa Bay Area. She cleared $100k last year.
