Are the e-mail addresses in Florida really public and if so how do you go about getting the name of the person if you have their e-mail address?

I have a person who keeps sending me e-mail that I don't want and would like to have him stop.

Thank you,

Paul

I don't know that they are public. First I've heard of this. I just block addresses for such. Spam is spam is spam. If it could just be stopped.

I do not see how just "Florida" e-mails could be public.
If you have a Yahoo, Gmail, Mac, Hotmail type of an account, how would anyone know what state you are in?

Perhaps I'm naive and more informed people here will post.

As to blocking a person sending you an e-mail, check with your ISP and see about blocking......or you can just tell your mail program to automatically make it "junk" mail.

E-mails are cover under an agreement with the provider and cannot be released without the member approval. Normally this is part of your contract.

You might want to ask in the Science and Technology Forum, Internet.
