Has anyone recently(within the past 6 months), moved out of Fl to go North to around PA or MD? If so, could you let me know what movers you used, if they were good & approximate $$?! Thanks.

Check out the Moving Forum...Lots of good info...it's where I got the ABF suggestion.

We moved last Oct from SWFL to NEOH.

Used ABF/Upack. Cost us about $2300 ($2000 for truck, driver, & gas plus 30 days in storage(items stay in same truck which is stored)). Items left on a Wed & arrived that Fri before we even did

Hired movers on both ends. My Three Sons in Punta Gorda (came from Tampa). Ran about $99/hr w/ 3 hr min. Movers in NEOH ran about the same amount.

ABF/UHaul was a positive experience. Very professional & competitive rates. You will be charged on how much sq footage you need in the truck. Min is 16. I think we used 18 & we were moving a 3/2/1 but no major applicances & only one bedroom set & a crib.

You can give them a call or check out rates in the website.

Good luck.

Be sure you check out ABF U-Pack. Even with hiring loaders here and unloaders at destination, it cost me less than 1/2 of a moving company.

I recently moved from West Palm Beach, FL to Boston, MA for $2800. I moved out of a 3 BR condo into a 3 br house. The guy came out and took a look at my items, gave me a Guaranteed flat price ( the reason I used them ), I told them where I wanted to go and that was it. I used white lion relocation out of palm beach and they did a good job and I paid not a penny more than the $2800. I had some other guys give me estimates based on weight but my friend did that and got burned for an extra $1000 with mayflower. Get guaranteed prices in writing because some of these guys purposely low ball you weight and it ends up costing you more.
