Lived 30+ years in Miami-Dad County and wanted to experience living out west, 4 seasons, mountains, etc. Well....... I kinda miss the Florida balmy ocean breeze in the winter.

We have autumn in Florida--the "winter" when it's 60 degrees here is the same as autumn. Not many leaves to clean up though.

I am in Naples. It may get to those temps in northern Florida, but it doesn't here.

Yes, it took a few years, but I started to miss snow. I'm originally from New England.

Now I have four seasons lite.

We have a dusting of snow a couple of times a year. It always melts in an hour or so, if it sticks at all.

Spring is glorious. I have never seen anything like it. Most of the flowering trees that you buy for your yard grow wild here in Tennessee. The daffodils are wild, too. It is quite the sight and it lasts a very long time.

After a while, I couldn't stand Florida's weather. People have to really see for themselves.

Loved it when I was a kid. But as someone who worked outside for 50 years,I can handle it one day a year, Christmas Eve.

I've never loved living in Florida. In fact I find it has the worst weather and climate I've ever experienced. I'm here for family. I miss New England and would move in a flash if family were there.

Define FL: high heat and unbearable humidity most of the year. Devastating hurricanes and wind. Sinkholes that swallow up whole houses with people in them. schools that are just ok - no top schools. flat landscape, barely any hills. bugs on steriods, but particularly palmetto bugs that could carry away a small dog and don't forget lovebugs. Daily thunderstorms in the summer when you are on your boat or on the beach.

Snow in New England was never a problem. Generally, one day and then the roads are all plowed. if it's cold, put on a sweater. In FL, if it hot, you have to run inside and crank up the A/C. At some point there are no more clothes to take off!

However, lately, whenever I see a snowy scene on TV or in a movie I want so badly to be there walking in it or playing in it, etc. Suddenly I'm thinking "Winter wasn't so bad. It was rather nice really."

Anyone else love our tropical/subtropical weather but still get nostalgic for winter?
No, that scene is fantasy. Really look back on it and for one moment in time after it snows it looks like that but as soon as people start getting outside it is dirty, gross and cold. Nope never going back.
