Hi, I am considering moving to south east or south west florida in the future when I graduate (RN school), my main interest in south florida is to be able to grow edible tropical trees and plants year round, being able to swim year round, and have direct flights to south america. But I have no desire to live in the typical american suburb of identical houses and useless lawns. I am looking for somewhere where people might share the same interests of food growing, etc... as I do. Any ideas? I have read some on the palm beach county, lee county,... thanks, Francisco

Direct flights to South America limits you to the Miami area, or at least driving distance to the airport.

I would suggest moving to Houston, TX.

You'd get the same weather to swim year round and Hobby offers direct flights to SA. Your money would stretch farther and the quality of life is a little better. The average pay for an RN in Florida and Texas are nearly the same, however, houses, insurances, and basic costs of living are way less.

Good luck !
