As an avid garage saler I always loved the hunt for a great find. But when it came time to clean out my mother’s apartment I could not find the heart to haggle over her stuff. Except for a few items that the family kept everything went to a local charity. We took before and after pictures of her place as a keepsake.

Here are links to YouTube showing pictures of her place before and after. It would have been one heck of a garage sale, but it went to a good cause. If you like the videos email it on, that way the memory of my mom will go forward.

Default Very well done.....memories

Went to youtube last night, sat and watched both video's, thinking of my own parents who passed away years ago, they lived in a small two bedroom mobile.......as a only child I couldn't bring myself to clean out their home for months. Your tribute to your mom was heartwarming and sad, yet you have the video to hold onto. I loved the idea of her clown going on a trip. It was a very well done tribute to your folks, may they rest in peace.

I was fortunate in that my Mom knew before she went into the hospital that she wouldn't come out and had made all her arrangements beforehand. She had been in her apartment for over 30 years. I was fortunate that her friend and neighbor next door offered to take much of her things.

It is a very difficult time, especially when you have no siblings to help out.

I just lost my uncle exactly a week ago, so I'm not sure I'm ready to watch that (no disrespect to you/your family) - but when I am, I'll definitely watch it. Sorry about your loss.

I couldn't even watch the second one... I got about 45 seconds into it. The first one was great, what a great thing to do. I greatly admire you for that. Take care.

Thanks for the kind words. I know to some it is hard to watch, it was even harder to make. In years to come, it will be nice for the grandchildren to see there grandma's house one more time.
