I don't care what it cost to some degree I filter city water any way , you have to .As far as septic , if you use rid X once in a while you won't have to woory about it much , jut don't use cleaners that wil kill the bacteria in the tank that make it work. The ony issue that needs to go in the septic tank is from the toilets , that's it. the rest can be cycled on to gardens and open areas . I know it takes re pluming but then, after doing so you can use regular cleaners that are antibiodic. I wish I had a well I hate city water or being dependent on them. I am on solar as well.

Northport has city water. All 'planned' communities have city water and sewer. Many areas along and near major roads [west of Toledo] have water only-septic. If you look at homes away from major roads, there will be well water. City water only is about $22 a month, with sewer is about $55

I used to buy bottled water, and then I started filling my empty gallon jugs at those vending machines for 35 cents a gallon,. Then I had back problems and couldn't lift anything heavy. I tried my tap water and it tasted great. So I just refilled my half liter plastic bottles with tap water. Then I moved and the water tasted bad. I got a Filtrete water filter for under the sink and it tastes fresh and clean now.
