I live N of Houston TX where property taxes are already outrageous, and climbing. I've wanted to buy a small retirement size house inland in Central Florida but have found nothing in my price range. Therefore I'm revising my thinking and looking at more diverse options.

Where in Central inland Florida should I look for a small lot within hours driving distance from a shore - not in a subdivision - with reasonable property taxes, to fix up for a temporary to permanant RV homesite?
I don't want to buy in an RV park or subdivision. I'm not a subdivision type person - want my own land to make my own decisions on an RV carport, circular drive, gardens, etc.
I realize that very small bits of land - 1 acre or less not in a subdivision - are generally impossible to find, but that's what I want, a place that I can pull my RV in and out at will in the face of threatening hurricanes or when the traveling bug beckons.

Also, is Florida a reasonably priced state to register a mid priced ( not a

giant home on the road type) RV?

Thanks Much
HOme Seeker

Bud you would be better off taking some time and hitting the road in the areas you like. What you are looking for is available but the cost of living is going up here as well. Registering your motor home will not be bad.
