Let's see, a conservative newspaper attacks a (allegedly closeted gay) Republican Governor for acting like a gay leftwinger.

Yep, that should insure that you get a lot of heated political commentary on this thread.

And by the way, if one ruled out moving to places just because of what some politician did or did not do, one would find themselves considering living in another country!

Have fun with this one. I'm sure there will be plenty of debaters along shortly.

Meanwhile, the current Florida residents saw the headline and thought: "But hey, he did marry his beard last fall."

I'm actually glad he vetoed it. The insurers have structured their companies and subsidiaries so that ever year since 2004, they're claiming poverty to the state regulators and simultaneously reporting respectable profits to Wall Street. I'm sick of the shell games the big insurers play, and want to see them to continue to have to justify rate increases before a critical board.

I don't care if he's ***** as a $3 bill. Why should you?

I tend to rate politicians on their positions on the issues and performance. You know, STUFF THAT MATTERS.

If that's a reason to NOT move to Florida, guess you weren't that interested anyway. C'est la vie.

I agree with beachmouse about the veto...

My goodness, there seem to be a lot of free lunchers here -- people who want to live in hurricane zones but have others pay for them when disaster strikes.

I'd call these folk "middle class welfare mommas."

But, we make up for that by supporting waaaaaay more than our
share of paranoid, zealot AM talk radio fanatics.....

Thanks for reconsidering your decision to move here

Dont let politics keep you from coming to Florida to live ; Florida is a really fine place , at least it is in the Panhandle ...dont know about the rest of the State. But, it sure is nice here. Gets hot, but so what...its far better than winters in northern states where im from. Here in the Panhandle, there seems to be a real good grasp on morals and ethics too ; I havent run across ANY public toilet seats that are covered in urine which tells me either the people here have some sense of consideration and courtesy to lift the seat up before urinating, or, the Restroom cleaning person is heading off the toilet seats at the pass ! In Illinois, the toilet seats arent in the same condition , trust me. Homosexuals are welcomed here in the Panhandle, but, we do ask that they keep their sexual proclivities behind closed bedroom doors , the same as heterosexuals do . , and that they dont flaunt their lifestyle on public Parade Floats playing dress-up and goosing one another. Come on down to Florida...its great here !

Trust me, you don't WANT to know about the rest of the state, especially from Orlando south. Habla espanol?

At least Crist is a step up from that incompetent Jeb Bush.
