We were wondering when is the official season of "the snow birds"
My hubby and I love to ride our motorcylces and the streets are already dangerous with the over "80" crowd. Just wanted to know when the rest come down to the sunshine state. Some of them tend to aim their car right at you. We feel like there is target on our back

October is the month when most snowbirds do their migration from the north. The third and forth week of October you will see the biggest influx. You will have to be on your guard all the time till the end of April when they return north for the summer.

As a rider myself I know what you mean by a target on your back. You must be a very defensive driver all the time on your bike.

Thanks for the info. We are extremely cautious anyways, but it seems like they aim right at you. They go right through stop signs, red lights and do not use a turn signal.
I work in retail as well, so wanted to know when the influx will happen.

There are plenty of seniors that live here year round. And frankly the aggressive (usually 16-26 year old male) drivers are far more dangerous in my experience. At least the 90 year olds driving 40 mph in the left lane with the left blinker on for 12 miles up route 27 aren't really a danger, just a nuisance.

Some come November, but most (at least in Naples) stay north for Thanksgiving and Christmas. After the Holidays, is when it becomes Snowbird Heaven.

Yeah right, I beg to differ.... I CONSTANTLY see the seniors driving like fools out here. There needs to be a mandated driving test at 70 and every 2 years after. Most(80%) of the accidents I see here in SWFL are old people. I have nearly been creamed by people who can barely see over the steering wheel, or just do not pay attention. OR think they can drive how they want because they have been driving for 100 years. look up statistics, I bet it's seniors who are a lot more dangerous.

Snowbird season is usually right after Christmas through the end of April, so Jan-April 4 months on average, some people may come in December and some may stay through May, it just depends.
