Do any Florida natives or long time residents remember when it snowed on January 18 or 19th in '77('76?)? It was my birthday, and although I don't remember since I was only one, my family says it was quite the event. I was curious if anybody remembers this unusual weather event?

It was not real snow, but some sort of sleet.

I remember - I took pictures of my car and yard. it was snow, it just wasn't a LOT of snow! It was really weird seeing all the tropical trees with icicles hanging off them.

I remember. I was a six year old in Miami and my mom had a heck of a time getting me to get into the car to go to school because I wanted to stay in the yard and play with the so called snow.

No, it most certainly was real snow. I was only 6 years old and living in Lakeland at the the time, but I still remember it to this day. It was a decent coating on the grassy areas and on cars. I remember the headline in the newspaper the next day was simply "SNOW!" in huge letters that took up half the page. lol

Here's a pic from Tampa on that day.

I lived in Jupiter and I was 7 looking out of the cafeteria window, but the snow melted as soon as it hit the ground.

I wish I could remember it. It was still a cool birthday present, lol. Do you think it could ever happen again?

I was 7 going on 8, but lived in MA, and I remember not being able to see the street lights it was snowing and blowing so hard.

How far south in FL did it snow?

Yes, I remember...snow flurries in Nassau, for Heaven's sake. My dad had an inch of snow on his lawn in Clearwater. All the plants I had on my front porch were frozen stiff by the time I could get home.
