Florida traffic can be a nightmare, I have a nephew who is a FHP and works St. Lucie county... he has told me stories about people he has stopped for traffic violation/arrested that would make a good movie(comedy).

He told me about these two guys he stopped on a country road (both were drunk)

FHP: I need your drivers Lic, registration, and insurance please.

Driver: ok, Sir.... here's the ins. and reg.... hands passengers drivers lic to FHP.
FHP: I need your drivers lic also.

Driver: I lost my drivers lic somewhere officer and don't know where they're at... my buddy here let me use his.. ( by this time his back up has arrived) so they get both guys out and hand cuff them.

FHP: gets more info. from driver and runs check for warrants... 2 warrants come back ... passengers drivers lic has been suspended for DUI...LOL.. he didn't surrender his license when he was notified they were suspended.

Off to jail they go...LOL..

I used to run a dui schol and back in the day, cops would pull someone over and if the guy was drunk, but they wanted to cut him a break, they would take a pin and poke a hole through the eye on the DL pix. Next time the guy would be pulled over, the police would know that it wasn't the first time he had been pulled over.

Talking America's worst drivers live in ...

Oregon tops; Rhode Island worst, Florida in the top 15 of worst drivers...
The lowest average score came out of Rhode Island, whose drivers in the sample averaged a 75.1; more than a quarter of Rhode Island drivers in the sample failed the test. The District of Columbia, New Jersey, Massachusetts and New York posted average scores almost as low, and failure rates in the region averaged 16%.

Drivers in Oregon, on the other hand, averaged a score of 90.6, and the Northwest overall had the most knowledgeable drivers, with failure rates below 7%.

Drivers older than 35 were not only more likely to pass, they were less likely to treat their time behind the wheel as "down time." Younger drivers, though, reported doing everything from applying makeup to fiddling with iPods at much higher rates. About 1 in 4 had sent text messages from a cell phone; 8% had changed clothes while driving.

How did your state score?
Rank State Score Rank State Score
1 Oregon 90.6 ----27 Arkansas 83.8
2 Washington 88.2 ---28 Virginia 83.5

I can't decide what's more frustrating - the little ol' ladies jumping curbs with Cadillacs that are clearly beyond their control (and going 25 miles under the speed limit when I'm already late for work) or the Yankees who seem to gain immense satisfaction from cutting you off & simultaneously giving you the finger.

I was in the left-turn lane, and this older gentleman was in the middle lane, which meant he was to go forward. The man kept leaning on his horn and giving me the finger. When the light turned green, he turned left, right in front of me. I guess he thought I was in the wrong lane. I have no idea what lane he thought I was in. Of course, when I came up on the side of him at the next light, he must have figured out I was right. I kept glaring at him, but he just ignored me.

That was a nice display for my five-year-old.

I pulled into a gas station one time and realized that the gas tank was on the other side. This old guy leans out of his window and screams, "Don't you even know what side your gas tank is on?" And laughs, maniacally.

This redneck gets out of his car and says, "Old man, shut up! I am so sick of these people!"

I get out of my car and say, "I just borrowed this car. No. I have no idea what side the gas tank is on."

Welcome to southwest Florida. Home of the geriatric know-it-all with an attitude.

I have never heard of that one before, that is a neat trick to let other officers know. I'm surprised my license didn't look like a screen door when I was young...lol.. I guess the cops around where I lived didn't use that little trick.
