We can't do PODS, they don't "service our area", and I don't want to do UHAUL, we have two cars that also need to make it there, and I have no one to drive the truck. I have tried to check out Mayflower, but they want my personal info before they give me a quote, and I'm not ready to go that far with it....

So, how much did it cost you to move, say 1,000 miles? With enough stuff for a three bedroom house? Who did you use?

TIA

It will be cheaper to pay someone to drive your car out there and then buy them a plane ticket back than to hire movers but I would say your looking at 6-10k.

It ran me about 4500 to move from Michigan, to Florida. That was right about 1000 miles. Of course, some of my stuff was stolen, broken, and the total bid came in at 2500 more than the original quote.

Use a reputable company, pay a little extra, and you'll be fine. Or, you can do it yourself, which is what I should have done.
