Time of the year when, those that watch the weather in any part of Florida will know, tropic storm and hurricane time. Could be something in the Gulf by Labor Day and another storm is brewing just off of South Africa's coast.

Wonder if anyone living in Florida gets tired of this season and moves? We are.

I would love a Cat 1 every month if i had it my way. Nothing gets my blood going like a cane headed our way. That blow up coming off of Africa will turn north anyways due to a upper level low that will pull it to the north. Starting in mid Sept thru Nov you gonna watch the stair steps well south of Cuba for something to blow up.

One day a CAT5 is gonna come up south of Cuba and come right up the pipe and make landfall just north of Tarpon springs and that will end it all for the Tampa area. Gust to 220mph will take everything out. Once everything near thew water is gone they should not allow anymore rebuilding in destroyed areas. Plus the Tampa area has seen no real action in the 50+ years i have lived here. Just close blow byes. Worst weather i ever saw was from a cold front from the no name storm in March 13th 1993.

Nope, The area we live in was not impacted much last season and it was 14 years earlier any hurricane hit at all. Worse storms in Tn while living there.

Well, we will take a full blown blizzard or snowstorm anytime.

I know, we are weird, but we do miss snow, especially at Christmas.

Nothing weird about that.

How I miss those cold winter nights with the furnace on, mom making hot chocolate, while we all binge-watched Disney movies as a family. Or played board games. Whatever.

And then next morning all of the neighborhood kids would be outside building forts and whatnot.

So, why are you living in Florida if you miss winter?

Most people here in northeastern Florida think we are nuts for wanting, and will be, moving back to “Old Man Winter” in Colorado. But, when the tropics start getting really active and we are sweating heavily from high humidity, we are looking very, very forward to going back.

A cat 5 could hit once a week and I still would not move.
