My company could transfer me out to Florida (decisions to make) and if i accept and go out to FLA i will have to turn in my New Mexico Drivers License and get a Fla license so my question is what testing is required. Do you have to take a road test or written. Here in NM you just take an eye test and then take your picture and your new ID is issued and thats it. Thankyou !!

My sister moved here 2004 and she didnt have to take the driving test. Just turned in her PA license. ( BUt you may have to do eye test). Myflorida.com is state web site. It recommends bring your birth certificate, and passport if you have one. making appointment is recommended.

No test. It's the same here as in NM. When I went to get my new FL license here in VB, it was by appointment. No lines, quick as can be. I was actually finished up before my scheduled appointment time.

You need your social security card, if you don't have a passport.

Make an appointment, don't just show up or you could stand in line.

No testing required as long as your current license from another state is valid.

They sent me home to get my card when I showed up without it, and I'm from Georgia and had a valid driver's license. But they would have accepted my passport instead, as Sunrico posted.

You can't be hired for a job in this state without actually showing the employer your social security card or passport.

But in Italy, you can't even use a computer in an internet cafe without showing them your passport first. Ah, security...
