i dont have a favorite mug. but my mother does! and it's so funny. it's the mug they gave to my grandmother when she was in the hospital. you know the ones. and my mom took it home and that is hers--she wont drink coffee in anything else
I've got a big blue mug -- probably holds about 20 oz. -- with the Animaniacs on it. I love that mug, and will die if it ever gets broken. Me and Yakko, Wakko and Dot go way back.

My wife refuses to drink from a mug. I have to keep looking for thin-lipped china cups in yard sales and thrift shops for her, and she keeps breaking them.
When I worked in Los Angeles, I took a trip to Seattle. I bought a very colorful mug with toucans painted on it. The joke was on me, because after I brought it home, it said, 'made in Los Angeles'. I used that mug in my office in Los Angeles every day for 5 years. When I quit the job, I brought the mug home and my husband promptly broke it. This was 20+ years ago. I haven't had a favorite one since that time......maybe that's why we still have mugs.
My mug has 'child free zone' in big black letters, with a baby figure and a red line through it. I'm a lot less militant about being childfree or not nowadays, but I still love that mug.
In 1990 I bought my SO a mug with a picture of a dinosaur seated at a computer (another dinosaur by todays' standards). It has the label 'computasaurus', with a description "a creature whose intellectual energy is focussed exclusively on computers; any beast deriving extrememe pleasure from computer activities." I'm pleased to say after all these years and countless moves, that mug is still in one piece, and still in use today!
On the rare occasions I drink tea, I like my friendly little round black mug..it looks like something from an intermediate pottery class.
Mine is a Cloud's pottery mug and I bought it because it passed the "comfort test" when I hold it , it feels good in my hand. And it's about 12 ounces... I like a big cup of tea or coffee.
My Jelly Belly mug just broke two days ago.
Time for another trip to the factory!
