I know, I know, this is based on every person's taste.

Which dishes, in general, do you consider the most overrated and underrated ones? I don't mean a specific dish from a specific cook/place, I mean the dish itself.

To my taste, bbq is quite overrated. I could easily spend a long time without having it and yet there are bbq shows on tv every day, many times a day.
On the other hand, trifles are underrated in my opinion. They are easy to make, very versatile and a great option for dessert.

I think you mean truffles.

For me:

Overrated: lobster, caviar, sushi
Underrated: pierogies, most things chocolate

As far as I'm concerned, wine is overrated.

BBQ overrated Think again!! Why trifle with truffles when you can eat BBQ???? In my opinion anything soaked in alcohol of any sort is likely overrated.

Chocolate is WAY overrated.

Underrated are pastas, potatoes, and rice. You can start any good meal or recipe with any of them!
