I find it really sad that some people find this type of behavior amusing. For each person that is willing to go to these lengths to not pay for a meal, there are people there to watch them and encourage them to do it again. I totally agree with Rain above and I would also properly compensate the waiter/waitress and offer my apologies. My goal each day is to not be the reason that another person's day was ruined.

I worked in a high school cafeteria for many years... Can't tell you how many times that happened to us there! It was ALWAYS hair that matched the student that was complaining, the wrong color, length of any of the cafeteria workers.

If I were out with someone who did that I would call her on it in front of the waitress! That would also be the last time I went anywhere with them!
