I always make special foods for the holidays, usually I always make up some hot buttered rum batter, and a rich rum cake. My kids love pumpkin bread, so I make a batch or two, and send off some care packages.

Anything special going on? I love how the stores have all this yummy stuff out, to make fudge, gingerbread, pie...

Tamales and Banuelos.

Not just the standard pork tamals either. Beef, chicken, cheese, sweet potato, fish, raisin coconut.... this list goes on. Different sauces as well red, green, mole and several Asian inspired sauces to mix with the protein fillings.

Roasted duck on New Year's Eve. Sugar cookies - decorated to the hilt - at Christmas time.

At Thanksgiving we have a marinated green bean w/bacon dish that is really good (old family recipe). And a broccoli casserole with a buttery bread crumb topping. Plus the usual yummy stuff - turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, sweet potatoes, etc.
