Organic was likely the growing means of the cranberry..it owuld have to specify nothign added.

ANyway, I buy dried carnberries at Whole Foods...they are not craisins and have no added sugar. Yes, they are tart, but I mix them with other dried fruits and nuts, so that adds the tart. Plus, if you had them in cookie, there was so much sugar and other flavoring in htre that the tart of the cranberry would have gone well with the sweet of hte chocolate and sugar, so there would be no need to have craisins.

I think Trader Joes does sell them plain without added sugar, though. I just buy the organic ones at Whole Foods. Look at the ingredients and see what is added if you don't want the added sweet. When I make stuff like stuffing or muffins, I take some sugar out and add craisins.

Well I found the exact same container of cranberries...at Harris Teeter.
Pricey though - $4.99 for 7 oz. They had a larger containe, not marked organic, 12 oz for 4.99, but they weren't marked "organic". Not that I really care about that, I just figured I'd try these, since that is the kind that my friend had used in his cookies.

They do have sugar. I tried a couple, and I won't have to worry about having enough to put in my cookies. Not that tasty by themselves (at least to me). Can't wait to make the cookies though.

I bought a 48oz bag at Sam's Club last week for something like $7.98. They were Ocean Spray craisins.

Well the cookies turned out great! But I found a new love - dried cherries!!! I was at Sam's Club looking for something else entirely ( as usual) and I saw a large bag of "Triple Cherry" mixed dried cherries. Now I've tried dried cherries, before, from the grocery store, and they didn't appeal to me at all. But these - damn I have to force myself to stop eating them!! They are SOOO good! So I made some of the cookies with the cherries instead of cranberries, and now I can't decide which one I like best!!!

Why would you have to decide? Make both!
