Do you put steak sauce on your steaks?

I don't........my thinking is, if the cut of meat is good, why ruin it with steak sauce?

Only if it's it's not cooked to my liking or if it's not a good cut of meat.
I won't throw out a steak because it's not medium rare, or send it back- I'll just ask for steak sauce.

Steak is steak, y'know? I'm grateful to be able to eat steaks instead of ramen and saltine crackers.

I totally agree! But, even when a steak is great without I might dab a little in some A-1. It's just that good!

What I sometimes do, and that's sometimes, I'll have a dipping cup on the side with a little bit of sauce in it to dip. That very rarely happens but sometimes I'll do that.

Believe me if it's a really good steak it needs nothing. I'm just tempted to dab a little sometimes. It depends. Don't hate! Kidding!

I love sauces with steaks but am not sure what "steak sauce" is ? Are we talking things like Bearnaise or Red Wine sauces or a specific kind of brand of "sauce" like ketchup ?

To me a good cut of steak is usually enhanced by a lovely sauce and I think making sauces is an art . It can elevate a steak to something really divine IMO. I always look forward to really fabulous sauces with my fillet steak when I go out to the restaurant. I think with some sauces I would be quite happy to quaff them on their own with some lovely artisan bread, so satisfying and moreish they can be...

The best sauce I ever had with a steak was ( and I know it sounds really odd) spiced poached pear in really, really reduced red wine and meat juices sauce. I swear I am still dreaming of that sauce to this day but I never saw it again... It was like essence of culinary perfection distilled into one tiny pot of yumminess...

A good sauce to me is a thing of beauty and can be food of the Gods.

I can digg it. It's like adding ice to a cold drink....it's already great as it.

Not to mention a good cut is very easy to prepare.

I like to pull my steaks out and let them sit until they reach room temp, rub'em down with extra virgin olive oil and add my favorite "rub".

Throw those "bad boys" on the grill and I'm in steak paradise.
