Mrs. cool, I've found that some of the newer cookers run at higher temps than the old ones. That can result in dry food, burned food, etc. I have a new one (less than 4 years old) and even on low, the food almost boils. If you try the recipe again, try cooking it for less time than the recipe calls for. Just a suggestion....
Thanks...I would have, but I'm gone at work for over 9 hours. IF the hubby gets home earlier than me, which he usually does, I have him turn it down to "Warm". I'm thinking of putting a timer on the cord so I can have it come on later in the morning. Someone here also told me about crock pots that have a delayed start time, that's a great idea.
I'm making a roast in it today, but it was frozen last night, I put it in the crock pot (on the bottom) with potatoes and carrots and half an onion. I dumped about 1/2-3/4 cup of broth into the bottom of it, and started it this morning. I think this time it'll be fine, 'cuz it's not only a lot thicker than my chicken thighs were, but it was still mostly frozen.
I have fresh thyme and fresh rosemary and a little pepper on top of the meat. I think this is going to turn out GREAT!!

Thanks Lily! I hope it's good...btw, thanks for the recipe for the sweet potatoes and chicken. i was going to ask you for it, and then read your post that you already gave it! Thanks! I'm trying it soon, I have 2 sweet potatoes at home right now. And I'm sure I have some more chicken thighs in the freezer. I won't be putting them in the crock pot this time.
I still have my crockpot from the 70's and I continue to use that one instead of the new one for the exact reason Lily stated..........the new one boils the meal
Good luck with your dinner tonight Mrs.Cool!
Debsi~I don't eat curry, but didn't know it came in colors

Good luck with the dinner. It came out delicious for us. One thing though... I cheated and went ahead and boiled the potatoes for about 15 minutes. My ovens can be 'iffy' and sometimes the temperature isn't like it should be. I wanted to be sure the potatoes were cooked through. In my case, the boiling was exactly the right thing to do!

Oh my gosh...I thought I was a hoarder by keeping my old crockpot, but it works so much better than my new one! Now I see I'm in good company after all.

I know green curry is green because it has a lot of basil in it. I love basil!! Not sure what is in yellow.. Dawn is recommending red so I just may try it.
Thai curries are very spicy. Buyer beware!
