Just curious if anyone else is like me and forgot to buy something for their holiday food spread and now the grocery stores are all closed. For me, it was olive oil which I thought I had more of so I didn't buy it but apparently didn't. I was making a nice pasta salad. Anyone?
LOL I bought everything weeks ago! Whipped cream, all the preps and fixings, the hens have been laying eggs prodigeously, my pig is in the freezer, all I had to do was go to it and pick out the ham yesterday...
OH CRAP. Last roll of paper towels. arrrrggghhhh
Oh, well, it is 40 miles to the nearest store - and believe me, it's closed! My kids live in Vegas, Jasper12, so I know what you mean... it's one of the resons they love it; they never run out of ANYthing!! LOL
Not to derail this thread, but I have been to Wal-Mart in Vegas at 3am, and every line is full. People have kids in their cart, there are lines 3 and 4 people deep, at 3am!!! Christmas? Everything is always open in Vegas, except Costco is closed today. And Petco. Good thing we have plenty of cat food. Although, Jasper would be okay with a bowl of turkey.
Mtn. Dew, bags of chips, Swiss Miss cocoa, D'Italiano bread, hamburger buns.....
Hamburger buns on Christmas? What do you do with them, pray tell? If you wish ground beef have a real treat. Sprinkle some salt and pepper on it, perhaps Tobasco, garlic, or onion. Then eat it raw. Think of it as impromptu Steak Tartar.
You should be able to get Mountain Dew, Swiss Miss, chips, and perhaps even the buns at the nearest truck stop. They will be open. I'm glad I don't need to go to a truck stop, however. The nearest is well over a hundred miles.
I forgot green onions.
At the the Camellia Grill in New Orleans, they call Steak Tartar on a bun a Cannibal Sandwich.
I did not buy anyhting to bring to my brother in laws house, every year I make a shrimp cocktail platter, I forgot this year so i am running to 7-11 to get beer.

one thing, but our daughter had some plus, because we ate last night we could have gone to the store: I made homemade blue cheese dressing and mustard vinegarette dressing but had forgotten a couple people wanted ranch. I rarely have store brought dressings in the house and had used up the little bit we had.
