anywheres from 1 to 3 days depending on what is fixed...
chicken, usually enough for one dinner meal...I buy in bulk but divide into smaller portions
and freeze several small packages...
spaghetti sauce, crock pot full, then divide into 3 or 4 glass jars and freeze...remainder is used
that night and maybe the next for lunch...
soups/stews try to make a small pot so there is little left over, doesn't freeze well and S.O. isn't big on eating leftovers...I don't care one way or the other...
Fish, cook just enough for one meal, again I buy bigger pkg. but divide into smaller servings, repackage and freeze uncooked...
well I have a few leftovers for this week, tonights dinner, tomorrow's dinner will have leftovers, plus I have chicken salad and a little bit of pasta leftover. Chicken salad for DH's lunch tomorrow and then Wednesday will be a mish mosh of leftovers and most likely spill over for lunch Thursday.

It's not out of preference. When living alone and you cook for 4, and you save each meal for dinner, it's a necessity. Strangely I don't get that sick of it, but I won't cook it again for awhile.
