Anyone else have Fazoli's and lose them? I loved their subs and spaghetti, its a shame they closed down.

I think they were owned by Mcdonald's (or some other big hamburger chain) and they decided to close them down. All the stores.

We still have Fazolis open here in Newport News, VA. They did change their menu around some. I LOVE eating there!!! Gotta love the free breadsticks.

They are not and never were owned by either Olive Garden (itself a subsidiary of Darden) or McDonald's. They are owned by a private equity group. The McDonald's rumor started because the new CEO of the Fazolis group was once an executive for McDonald's.

Actually, they were founded by Jerrico, the original parent company of Long John Silver's (which is now owned by YUM!, the Pepsi spinoff that owns Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC, etc). That was in 1988, and Jerrico sold them in 1990, but lots of people associated them with LSJ for years afterwards.

The firm that owns Fazoli's now, Sun Capital, also just bought Boston Market.
