The USA is the only country whose food I would avoid. I avoid ersatz products made in USA (like cheese or Texmati rice) that are supposed to be comparable to imported. Some USA products are the worst in the world, like chocolate bars and beer. I'd never buy American beer, but I have to because imported is punitively overpriced. Who would prefer Miller Lite over Tsingtao?
I've eaten in too many street stalls in China and Vietnam, to worry about what is in their exported food.

I love my Asian noodles but I try to buy them from Taiwanese imports, the brands I know about.
Big into Korean & Japanese foods too.
Regular food products, either home grown, locally fished & shot or mostly local farm stuffs or the normal grocer.
As for the beer & cheeses & stuff... I love my small brewery beers like "flying dog" etc..
And we have awesome cheeses here like Yancy's, or many Vermont's cheese... Cabot factory tour is cool.

I never do Miller Lite, but DH do do occasional TsingTao (at asian eaterys) or even Kirin beer (japanese beers) or korean beers.
Miller Lite (if that is all you know of American beer...) is true eek & def. no taste.
Nothing from China ever. In fact I boycott that country in general. I don't trust anything they make sell or produce. They treat people horribly and they skin and boil cats and dogs alive.
I avoid Chinese and Viet Namese food exports but I'm very careful as well about Canadian food products because they contain many ingredients from China. For example, I know a person in the garlic bread business there who has told me that all the garlic is from China because it's cheaper than California garlic. The frozen garlic bread is exported here. The Canadians import many products that are not imported here directly.
Yes I recently noticed that the powdered garlic in my kitchen says China. It's really tough to avoid it.
^^^^ Stuff from China still sucks, bigtime. Carcinogenic, lead, mercury, filth.
Glamorize it all you want - I won't/don't buy it.
Ever. Including the crawdads that, on the front of the package, claim to be Louisiana crawdads, but in the small print on the back of the package are carcinogenic garbage from....China.
