The new list is more frightening than ever, with fresh inductees like a 10-pound cheese steak, 4-pound sushi roll and bona fide Guinness World Record holder. For those who believe restaurants in the U.S. are the only offenders of taste and decency, more than a few international eateries are now represented.

It's silly and ridiculous promotional/advertising gimmicks but such is the free enterprise system. I can only eat a child's portion so they're not getting my business.

I think that 14 lb pizza in Colorado costs like 100 bucks. I recall seeing it in Colorado Springs and thinking ..14lbs? of pizza? If you and a friend finished it, it was free. If you can eat 7 lbs of anything, ..good god.. wow. Just.. wow.
Think of a 5 lb sack of potatoes. Now think of eating that plus 2/5ths more of a bag. Good god. I'm good on 1 potatoe.
Yep! I hate eating a sloppy joe. I'm certainly not gonna try to tackle a disgusting mound of crap. I prefer quality to quantity. I'd as soon stay away from cafeterias and all you can eat deals. I have some eating issues since a surgery a few years ago. But, I can't imagine where these people put some of the food they consume.

I have never understood the appeal of all-you-can-eat deals. There's this pressure to eat enough food to make it worth the money, and I don't want to eat that much in the first place. Besides, how gluttonish a concept.

Me, too. Also, it shows, to me, a lack of gratitude that we're lucky enough to have enough food in the first place.
Yep, these things are just stupid.....but I will point out that there are exceptions. First thing that comes to my mind is that when making a big crawdad boil for folks you should allow 5 pounds of crawdads per person, because out of that 5 pounds of crawdads you're only really eating the tail meat and maybe suckin' the heads. Sheeeiiiit......I'll do 10 pounds! Plus all them red potatoes and corn!
I wonder if there is possibly any danger to eating that much food at one time. Could someone seriously rupture their stomach? Or other health problem? Not that I want anyone to die...I read about a woman who drank water for a contest to win an x-box...she ultimately died... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_intoxication
