LOVE the smell of bacon and love to eat it even more!

I'm not around cooking odors I can't stand now but years ago when I lived in an apartment house near a university I had international neighbors living under me who had the most foul smelling cooking aromas in the world. I would gag almost every night. I actually had to move because of it. I most definitely did not want to know what they were cooking.

I cannot stand the smell of coffee beans being ground. makes me want to barf. Don't like to drink the stuff either.

The most offensive smells I've encountered in a kitchen to date are:

grinding fresh horseradish - not that it really stinks, but it's like chemical warfare - tearing up and burning sinuses.
soaking kidneys - smells like a bus terminal bathroom.
flavored coffee - I'd have to move, especially if it's hazelnut. Absolutely cannot stand the smell. I gag passing Gloria Jean's shops in the mall. OTOH, grinding unflavored fresh roasted coffee is among the greatest aromas.

Only one thing we don't cook in the house. Chicarrones.

I actually like the smell of all cruciferous vegtables cooking

Fish
Cabbage
Bacon to some extent. I don't mind it while it's fresh and cooking but the minute it's done that bacon grease smell turns to stench and it lingers even after you've cleaned everything up. Blech.

I understand sauerkraut doesn't smell good, but because I love it so much, it does smell good to me.

Bacon - I hate the smell of it cooking. The fatty/smoky smell hanging in the air is just awful to me. Of course (shock, horror) I'm not a big fan of bacon anyways. I will eat it, depending on how and with what it is being served ... but the smell of it cooking is not pleasant at all to me.

Curries - I hate curry (well I am ok with Thai curry, but Indian curries are just awful), and the smell is just terrible to me.
