Just had some on Monday in Northeastern Pennsylvania. It is stronger than the popular brands, but not that strong. I have had some regional ginger ales that burned going down. That real ginger flavor.
I really should remember to bring them in the house.
I was going to say when I saw the title: remember? I can get some in 5 minutes?!?!
I hate Vernors. Always have. Nasty.
I'm a Canada Dry guy.
Canada Dry > Vernors.
If anyone misses it that much, drop me a PM, and I will send you some!
Only place I heard of Vernor's while I was growing up was in the ads on a couple of Detroit AM radio stations which were accessible in Pennsylvania after dark. But apparently, like Tastykakes and Rolling Rock beer (which now comes from the Busch brewery in Newark) it has developed a following among "expats" who will go out of their way and pay a little more for it.
None in Hawaii that I know of, but it is some pretty tasty stuff. We grow a lot of ginger around here, maybe Hawaii should make it's own version of gingerale.
Fantastic ginger ale...it was my dad's favorite. I had it as a kid when we'd visit relatives in Michigan. Sharp, but I also seem to recall a pleasant woody overtone, like it had been barrel-aged or something. Sadly I've never seen it here on the East Coast.
