I came across this crazy story and had to post it. A woman is keeping a blog in which she documents that she will only eat products from, or produced by, Starbuck's for a year.
From her blog, this is her reply as to why she is doing this: "So again, WHY? am I doing this challenge? Or WHY? will I do any challenge in the future? Because I LOVE being human and I LOVE the privilege of being able to ask the question WHY? in the first place! I love the question WHY? because sometimes I find that the answer leaves me with even more questions about life… and then, my circle starts all over again and I wouldn’t want my WHY? any other way."
I can understand her thinking here, but I think that deciding to eat at Starbuck's for an entire year is a strange way to enjoy the privilege of being able to ask the question why.
I don't think McDonald's food is healthier than Starbuck's. Starbuck's does have a very limited menu of food items, though. That is one reason I am surprised this woman is going to do this for a year (supposedly).
If you click here you can see all the sandwiches and other food items Starbuck's sells. Most of it looks pretty healthy, but there is no way I could live on just this plus coffee, tea, juice, smoothies, water, and bakery items for an entire year.
I don't get the point and I'm not going to read her blog to attempt to figure it out. I'll assume the point is she's an aspiring documentary film maker or blogger hoping to write a book or somehow get famous off this stunt. Starbucks food isn't awful, and it's certainly better than McDonald's. They sell yogurt, granola, oatmeal, fruit, nuts, veggie sticks and some half way decent sandwiches along with the traditional cafe fare. I'm guessing Starbucks in Seattle where she is have a bigger selection since as I understand it that's where they test all their products.
I can't imagine it can be good for you considering the lack of variety even with the amount of options available.
